Problems Updating from XP since reformat....

  ShorN 20:40 27 Mar 2006

Ive reformatted my PC today using the original windows XP cd.
This went through and im back to windows Xp Version 2002 SP1.

Now when I go to Microsoft/Windows Update it states I need 40 critical updates, but none of these are SP2, is that right?

Also when I doanload and install those 40 updates my PC will not boot up properly and I have to start from "last good known configuration", and this loses all the updates.

Any help/thoughts appreciated!

But when I go to that link there is no option to download SP2, when I click it it goes through to the update section and just gives me a list of teh secirity "priority" updates to get and none of those are SP2.

Also I have to start the Background inteligent transfer each time before I go to the update section?? (i do this thru service.msc)

Thanks for the link, I downloaded that yesterday, but after I installed it it did the same thing and brought me to the "last good known configuration" screen!
