problems with monitor display from standby

  Amer 21:00 27 Mar 2007

I had a noisey fan on my graphics card (NVIDIA GEFORCE ti4600) so replaced it (major achievement for me). The new fan works fine but when I come out of standby, I get no monitor picture and have to restart and then display is fine.

Any ideas what I could have done wrong??

Computer is Pentium 4 Windows XP.

Any help appreciated...totally puzzled!

Try a mouse click after coming out of Standby.

No screenscaver is not the problem and mouse click does not resolve.

Although the computer comes out of standby, the monitor standby light (yellow) stays on rather than going to green. A message comes up saying 'no signal detected, going into power save mode'. If I restart, problem is solved.

All was fine till I put in new fan.

Hi you could try putting the old fan back on.
