Are you installing this drive for storage/back-up use? If so you'll probably need to make it a logical drive and format it.

Right Click on My Computer and select "manage".
Select "disk management" and your new drive should be displayed there. Right click it and choose "format" Windows should allocate a drive letter when you re-boot. Make it a Logical Drive for storage.

Hope this helps

You need to press F6 during the installation process (it will ask you at a certain point) and insert a floppy disk with SATA drivers on it.

You can download these drivers from the asus website or if you can't do that I will email or send them to you.

Download from here:

You MAY have to update your BIOS too from the same link above before you can do that.

i'm looking at the website i'm downloading this driver Silicon Image Serial ATA driver version V1.0.0.22 and Utility V1.0.0.11 is this the right one ??

Yes I think so.

The files you need are:

txtsetup.oem
SIISupp.vxd
Si3112r (setup files)
Si3112r (system information)
Si3112r.mpd

These files must be copied to a floppy disk.

ok i've now got them onto floppy brb and let you know thanks
