Hi, posted yesterday that windows wouldnt start. managed to fix this by booting from cd and repairing (cd is 4 years old)

Problems today - computer is taking 3-4 minutes to load windows, running slowly when browsing the internet and also when loading any applications.

Have seen the message that my version of windows is not up to date, when i try to download updates from microsoft - get the message "website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. error number 0x80070005.

Also cannot send or receive emails. get the message "sending and receiving reported error 0x8007007F.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

John

You probably also need to reinstall SP2 plus the SP3 updates released since August 2004 (when SP2 became available).

The SP3 updates can be downloaded from:
