problem with my mates wireless connection, he can only connect one wireless unit at a time

he has a talk talk connection, he went and bought a netgear dgn 2000 a combined modem and router to replace the talk talk modem

he has his pc wired and working
he can run his laptop either wired or wireless and works
he can run his sons Playstation 3 wireless and works

the thing is he can only do the laptop or ps3 he cant get both connected at the same time

if one is connected the other cant log on it fails

any ideas on what the problem might be?

As he setup Wireless Encryption in Router Settings? he also needs to write the key down to enter into wireless pc settings

hi woodchip
i assume you mean does he have it with a password encrypted so nobody can leech on it

if you do, then he told me he does

the ps3 workd fine connected on its own
the laptop works fine connected on its own
the pc is wired and works no probs with the other two

its just the ps3 and laptop who cant log on together, one works and the other dosnt, dosnt matter who is first on the other then cant connect wirelessly

Was it already Set to Encryption when he got it? he still needs the Key from Wireless settings in the Router to load into any Wireless Hardware as without it, he will not be able to connect

hi woodchip

sorry ive not got a grip of this
why would they work fine alone, but the encryption is the issue when they try to log on together?

i cant see why that would be a problem if both work fine alone?

no idea but I would check the router Settings, as thats what is stopping you connecting

PS all routers are different in the Setup on how they run, thats why its best to checkout the Setup Page using Internet Explorer

what is the router make and type then try both pcs wired then try ps
if this works then try ps and pc wirelss and what results are you getting
