Problem with User Accounts in XP

Hi There
I operate with 2 limited User Accounts, and myself as admiunistrator on my XP Home SP2 set up.
Ive done this because of problems with key files being deleted by mistake etc when we were all administrators.
However i cant find any way to grant authorities to the users, so they are unable to use some software, install things, and cant use some hardware (the scanner is the main problem).
It seems pointless having user accounts if they are so restricted, and cant be modified.

Does any one have a solution, please?

Thanks Scouter. THe workaround does provide a solution that allows you to specify that a program should be run under another user (ie the administrator).
However... this is rendered ineffective because it doesnt retain the administrators details for future use! For it to work the administrator needs to personally authorise each use of the program.

Sorry apart from that link I have no other work-around. I think that XP Home only had two type of users and the limited user is really limited.
