Problem trying to re-install Win7

Hi everyone, I am trying to do a re-install of Win7 but get this message.

"Windows could not collect information for (OSImage) since the specified image file [install.wim] does not exist" anyone help please.

On what with what?

with a W7 dvd?

if laptop do a factory reset

Sorry, HP Compaq Desktop. W7 Home Premium (SP1) from DVD.

Is it a copied DVD? If so, it may have been burnt at too high a speed.

It is a original printed Microsoft DVD, I am about to try it in another drive. Thanks.

It is a HP Compaq dc760 SFF Base unit. I have it working OK now after an upgrade re-install. It was the internal DVD drive failing to read the disk properly, worked OK in an external USB drive. Batch's link gave me the clue. Thanks to all.
