problem saving digital movies to hard drive

please help a novice!!!!!!!!
i'm having trouble saving my digital video images to my hard drive. i have a jvc digital video camera, fire-wire connection and loads of free space on the hd, but after i've been saving the images for 20 mins. or so i get the message "run time error".this is really doing my head in so any help will be fantastic.

run time errors can be associated with memory it may well be that you do not have enough to run the tasks you want, i'm not aufait with video editing but i would say you need boatloads, "memory" that is!!

It might be something to do with the file size as FAT32 limits this. If you're using XP and it's a FAT32 file system consider converting it to NTFS.

Big Elf is right there is a max file size of 4GB on fat16 & fat32. So you need to copy the video to your hard drive in small sections eg 10 to 15 minutes. Or as Big Elf says convert to NTFS. 1 hour of video is about 13.5 GB of hard disc space.
