I have a dual-layer DVDRW and am using dual-layer discs to burn a DVD. I keep getting the following error come up click heredoes anyone know why please?
By the way the discs are TuffDisc DVD+R DL 2.4x.
are dvd+ dual layer part of your writers spec? if they are you may need to update the firmware from the manufacturers website.
How and where do I find that out please? I believe the drive is a Liteon DVDRW SHM-165P6S.
this is where you get the firmware but google to find out if supports dual layer format
sorry click here
Updated firmware and still won't work. This is everything that my drive supports click here
Great minds!! What next then?
Possibly the system is fussy over what media is used [email protected]Does it burn to other dvd-r or normal dvd rw (not dual layer)
Eveything else burns fine. And although I havent burnt dual layer for a long time I think these discs did work although I can't be certain. They are brand new and sealed and are quite a good make. As you know dual layer are expensive and its not right that it should be 'trial and error' to find the correct disc.
