Problem with Outlook 2007

  griffo 18:10 18 May 2009

Outlook 2007 suddenly stopped responding this afternoon, with the egg-timer permanently on.

I have tried re-booting and a system restore to Saturday but no good.

Each time I close it, it wants to send an error report, then closes and then re-opens.

I have to use ctrl/alt/del to close it and prevent it 'cycling'.

Can anyone suggest a remedy please?

In all programs {Microsoft office} expand the folder expand Microsoft tools

Use the diagnostic see if that helps

You could use the MS Office 2007 disc, and select Repair

It is possible that you pst file has become corrupted. Try scanpst click here

It appears to have been related to Kaspersky. I noticed in task manager that avp.exe was using at least 50% of the cpu capacity.

I switched Kaspersky off and Outlook immediately responded. So I then turned everything off and rebooted and it seems OK (for now anyway).

Not sure what that was all about - will keep a close look at things and report back if it reappears.

For now - many thanks.
