Problem with Nero

  Drusen 20:16 23 Jan 2008

I've been trying to copy some files on to a Tesco DVDRW+, but have not succeeded. The error log contains this:

Formatting disk failed
DVDRW 16x16 invalid command
DVDRW could not perform start of Disc-at-once
Burn process failed @ 4x(5,540kb/s)

I've used DVDRs before without a problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First step could be to update to the latest version of Nero 6 ( from the Ahead/Nero website.

You shouldn't need to format the disk unless you are going to treat it in the same manner as a hard drive.

However RW media has a much lower reflectivity level than the R type, which often leads to difficulties with some drives in reading it.

USE DVD RW discs till you sort out your prob, that way you will not be creating coasters. Try an alternative well named brand of RWs. I have used RWs in a test situation for many years and have never had any probs, even holding data in the long term. David
