Is this a problem with my monitor of PC?

  Tina19721 18:13 24 Jul 2007

I would be grateful for any help. I have had two or three occasions in the last 3 months that when I turn my pc on I just get a black screen. The cursor is visible and I can turn the computer off by guessing where the right place is to click.

When I reboot my pc it is normally okay again.

My PC was purchased in December and has been back in for repair once as I could not turn the pc on at all. In that case there was a problem with the graphics card which was replaced.

My monitor was purchased around 3 years ago. I am just a liitle bit confused as to which piece of equipment is faulty.

Many thanks

Try booting up using a friend's monitor. If it works then your monitor needs replacing, or even servicing.

Can you plug your monitor into another PC? or try another monitor with your PC.

That should help you work out which one has the problem, hopefully.
