Problem with monitor on new MSi Motherboard

  User-BC40DE2B-E617-44DB-81F284A7AF5848A4 17:05 30 May 2004

Some one please help, i have just bought:

MSI KT4AV Motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ Processor
256mb DDR 266 ram
Radion 9200se 128mb AGP Graphics card
Western Digital 80GB HDD
21" Hitachi Monitor

When i restart my comp the monitor does not come on, it just stays in standby mode, if i leave the comp for 5 mins and then switch it on the monitor comes on, my first guess was a heat problem but all sensors on fuzzy Logic say the temp is fine, it is a 3oow psu so should be enough power, any suggestions would be welcomed. I am running windows xp pro.

Check power management settings?

There have been known problems with Radeons doing this, perhaps a power supply problem,is it a cheapo one?

As Fruit Bat suggests, the first thing is to go into the control panel/power options, and make sure the monitor is set to never switch off; you can then worry about whether you need to upgrade your psu.

Thanks Guys i will try the power management settings, if not do i buy a new PSU yes?
