Hi Guys,

I bought a speaker from WH Smith on Friday, that is supposed to connect via the USB port. I have tried using it, but there is no sound coming through. I hsve used the earphone connection that it can also use, and there is sound coming through, so I know it is not faulty. Do I need to set up the speaker somehow?

Hi, have you used any other usb peripherals at all, if not, then perhaps your usb needs to be anabled in the BIOS. Or - perhaps you could try the speakers in a different usb port.

anabled .. should be .. enabled, of course.

Have a look at troubleshooting at the bottom of this page click here it confirms Technotiger's comment.

Open control panel and then open the sound and audio devices. under speaker settings, select advanced. Here you can have the option to select the 'Desktop' speakers rather than the headphones...
