PROBLEM WITH ISP - PPP

I am unable to log into my Tesco broadband. I get error 0721. Diagnostics say I have a problem with my ISP PPP. When I try to connect to Tesco broadband the password appears to be double the length.

Any ideas anyone, please?

Has the problem only existed for a very short time - if so, it could be a temporary problem at the ISP's end?

PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) is used to negotiate the internet connection between your computer (or Router) and the ISP.

>>> When I try to connect to Tesco broadband the password appears to be double the length

Windows often "masks" the actual number of characters in a password by adding additional dots or asterisks. This makes it harder to guess the password.

The problem has existed for a few days. I think I had a virus , which has now been deleted.

I will contact Tesco.

Thank you.

PPP normally relates to a dial up modem,

for ADSL in the UK it is mostly PPPoA but can be PPPoE with a very few ISP`s

Check in your ADSL modem or modem/router the most common UK settings are

VPI = 0
VCI = 38
PPPoA
VCMUX
RFC2364)
