When i start my computer everything goes well.until i get to the second screen which my computer displays.
It says:
f1.....dos
f2.....???
Default:f1

if i press f1 it says:

Freedos FAT kernel GO!
press any key to boot from cd rom...

I press any key and it says

Loading 1st stored boot sector...ok!
Loading freeDOS FAT

What does this mean?
And how can i install windows xp?

Have you got a floppy disc in the drive or a CD in the drive?

  maith 20:42 22 May 2006

cd in the drive

Hi, have you gone into the Bios and made your CD the first boot disk?

  maith 20:45 22 May 2006

Yes it is first in boot device

Do you have a floppy boot disk? If so you could try booting from this and formatting the hard drive. Then reset first boot disk to CD and try again. The messages you are getting do not come from the Windows CD. Is it a full version of XP or an upgrade?

I do not have a floppy boot disk and my hard drive is already formatted.

i am not sure whether it is na upgrade or full windows xp.

Try doing a search on Google for freedos, it appears it is provided on Hewlet Packard machines and is a Dos operating system.
