problem clicking on links in e-mails

  bukkaz 16:11 23 Jun 2009

Recently when clicking on links in e-mails I get the message "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator". I can't recall doing anything to alter my settings. Any advice on what to do, please?
I'm using Microsoft Outlook.

Try a System Restore back to before you started getting this message.

Can be related to upgrading from IE6 to IE7 - this should help

Another thing you could try if resetting doesn't work:

Go to Start/Run, type this command and press Enter:

regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll

(note the spaces)

I should have said that I use Opera as my default browser. Does this alter things?

This problem arises in Opera when IE is not the default browser. Changing it in Set Program Access and Defaults should resolve your problem.

Thanks Sea Urchin that solved it.
