Graham ® Tue, 30.08.05 | 09:28 The most likely cause of this is interference from the analogue (phone) portion of the signal to the digital (broadband) portion, which is causing corruption of the signal.
One way this can happen is with a faulty filter. A voltage spike caused by the handset being lifted, should be filtered out.
Another would be from a cordless phone causing radio interference.
You will have to experiment to find the guilty party.
You may have a couple of wires crossed in the junction box
