Problem with ACDSee

  BHG 21:08 16 Mar 2008

Have loaded some images to ACDSee and when opening the loaded file the thumbnails appear. However the images will not open. The screen just displays a black blank.

Does anyone know if the images which appear on the thumbnail can be retreived into another file?

What message is at the bottom of the Acdsee screen?
Cannot render file?

Thanks for your response
Message at bottom of ACDsee sreen just specifies image number. As I scroll through slides the number progresses but no picture.

Image quoted example is C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\My Pictures\Ampthill\Feb08\DSCF6073.lnk

The files you're looking at are links or shortcuts to the actual files. Point ACDSee to the folder containing the actual pictures.

Or search for DSCF6073.jpg or DSCF6073.* if no luck. Set minimum file size to anything over 2kb and shortcuts will not appear in the list.

Thank you Brundle but still no luck. They are there somewhere can see them on the ACD browser but cannot access them

ACDSee creates a cache of image thumbnails - they may still show in the program but have been moved or deleted from the disk itself. Look in options for a `refresh cache` option or similar. Windows search didn't locate them?
