Printing with only black ink Epson DX5000

  Joloke08 12:29 04 Jun 2008

i have an empson dx5000 all in one printer and im really angry because i cant print with the remaining ink!

I used to have a stylus 880 that used to let me do it,it was bad enough going to chipped cartridges but now to fiond i cant print in another colour than the one thats empty is a diabolical cheek!!!

My magenta and cyan are out but yellow and black are nearly full i need to print a lot of stuff just black i ticked just black in the printing preferences but it still tells me in order to use my black i have to renew the two empty ones :(

Is there any way to con it? so i can just print in black? is there any cheat software out there to make the printer think there is ink in the empty ones or let it print using just the black and ignore the empty tanks?

Epson probably think there cleaver but its more likely to turn me off the brand,i wont buy another!!!

Just go to Choice Stationery and buy the 2 cartridges you need at £4.99 each.

Tonezone for the same cartridges at £2.95 each.

machine will only print with all cartridges 'Active' as stated.

Some models [I do
not know if yours is one] Will allow black only print[Check Printer properties]

To maximize the ink volume in your cartridges you could invest in a Zapper- which zeros the chip click here
