Epson R200 or R300, not much difference in price, both under £100, 6 cartridges. R300 has built in card readers. Will work with USB 1.1. In fact when I upgraded to USB 2, I didn't notice any difference.

Most of the Epson printers are very good and all do pretty good photo printing, especially if they have Photoquicker bundled with the printer driver.

I have an Epson R200 and an Epson photo 895. Both have Print Image Matching and give really good results on photo glossy paper. The ink and paper are always bought from click here

The R200 will also print directly on to CDs (although I have never tried that). The only difference between the R200 and R300 is the R200 does not have a card reader.

Check them out here:

Just to add to what pj123 said about printing direct to CD. I haven't tried it with my R300 but my son has with his R200 with excellent results. Ifyou plan to do this make sure you get the correct CD's or the ink takes forever to dry. Alternatively, stick the blank label on the disk first then print.

Sorry as Cook2 says you need to buy CDs that are printable or stick a label on first. Printable CDs can be bought from many sources. For a start try here.

Printable CDs start from about £20 per 100.
