Printer set-up

I've been trying to set up the Royal Mail (R.M) 'ON-LINE' POSTAGE system on a friends machine. His printer is H.P. C4380.
I'm having a problem setting this up to print onto DL envelopes.
When I click on Features in the printer properties, I get a menu that starts with A4, then underneath it says "more". When I click "more", the drop down shows lots of paper and envelope sizes etc, the DL being one of them. I click on this then Save. But when we go back to the R.M printout, we don't get the DL option to print to.

Any ideas please ?

Are you setting the properties (Feaures) from within the the programme e.g.Adobe Reader?

To set the paper type for printing
1. Make sure you have paper loaded in the input tray.
2. On the File menu in your software application, click Print.
3. Make sure the HP All-in-One is the selected printer.
4. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.
Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties,
Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
5. Click the Features tab.
6. In the Basic Options area, click the appropriate paper type from the Paper Type list.e.g. envelopes

thanks beeuuem,,,
yep I did all that.
The list does include the envelope DL, which I select,,,, but when I go to print, this option is nowhere to be seen.
When I select it, it stays in the appropriate window (& somewhere along the lines it states the DL size as 220 x 110,,,,) so it looks perfect,,, until I want to print an envelope.

My own printers (Brother MFC, Minolta laser etc) sets up as normal (& as you list), but this HP dosn't seem to like it.

Any more ideas out there please ?

I sent an e-mail to H.P for help,,,, but has so far not had a reply.
Are H.P usually good with customer support ?
If so, does anyone have a contact e-mail address that I can try ?

Brother - on the other hand - are excellent with customer service, so I may be a bit spoiled.
They usually phone you within 24 hours to help out,,,,

click here to chat with an online support technician after you buy, may be worth a shot?
