Printer problems

Printer is a HP laser jet 4050.

When i print out i get a thick dark streak going through the page.

Could this be a misaligned malfunctioning photoreceptor drum?

How do i go about fixing it?

Would i need a new drum or can i align it myself?

For the most part, you tinker with the innards at your peril. I suggest you contact HP for advice.

in most cases it's due to dert etc on the corona. if the edges are fuzzy not clear. clean the primary corona some printers enclose a cleaning tool just for that purpose takes no more than a minute. if you still have problems, replace EP engine
