Printer not printing now

  billyliv 14:10 01 Feb 2003

Hi, Since tinkering about trying to network WIN XP with WIN ME my Epson Stylus 440 refuses to print. On the XP machine I just get gibberish. On the ME machine I get the message "There was an error writing to LPT 1: there was a problem writing to the port. Check to make sure your printer is configured to use a valid port"
A recent purchase, HP photosmart 7350 prints ok on both machines. The Epson web site does not have any XP drivers for the Stylus 440. I tried the 2000 drivers but still no go. It would be a shame to dump the 440 as I have a load of cartridges. Any ideas?. Cheers, Bill
