Have any of you IT guys got a spare printer manual for an old HP Laserjet 4M Plus sitting on your shelf. I'd be interested to hear from you.

If you visit the HP website I'm sure that you will be able to download a .pdf version of the manual and save it to a CD-R or on your HDD.

Most manufacturers provide manuals, drivers etc this way as well as with the euqipment.

I think he wants a user manual and your link is the Service Manual !!!!!!!

Nilcher - Go to the HP website and search for common problems (if you have them) for your printer on the Support & Download section. It might be quicker than working your way through the 486 pages of the service manual!

Nicher, and others -

My apologies on two fronts

1 I had to go out fot the afternoon

2 Yes it is the service manual that I have,

Check the Driver disc's to see if there is a manual on them

Thank you guys for help attempts. Please note I'm looking for the User Manual for the HP lj 4M Plus NOT the SERVICE Manual.

Was hoping somebody might still have a spare manual sitting on the shelf when the printers were thrown out.

woodchip, sorry no driver disk came with this old printer. Its running on XP provided driver.

Somebody must have a copy that's no longer wanted.

Most of the links I found were for the service manual..:-)

I was under the impression that the one I eventually provided was for the user manual...:-(

I gathered it was not a very recent printer model.

As you say, there are many solutions to problems provided on the HP website.
