Print spooler error

  Cesare 12:42 19 Jan 2008

When installing new software from Hp it stopped at 9% and said: Stopping service: Service print spooler. No solution to this error. Removing unnecessary components. When checking on services.MSC it gives the following; Print Spooler Properties; Print Spooler Start Type: Automatic. Service State: started.
Also on Remote Procedure Call(RPC)it shows 'AUTOMATIC'.
Remote Procedure (RPC) Locator shows 'manual'. Should this also be 'automatic' maybe ?
I downloaded game demos and installed them with no problem, so I don't understand why this is giving me spooler error.

look for *Lex* in services.msc and if it is there make it auto and on.

My RPC is set to Automatic, so try it.

Howard64.....I dont have LEX (WinXPsp2) and MAJ there are two RPC's. Are yours both auto please ?

One is "Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator", that isn't a Dependency of the Print Spooler, Cesare.

OIC Ok I will try it. Thank you.
