print doc/pdf files direct from a usb stick

Is there a printer available that will print .doc or .pdf files direct from a usb memory stick? Many will print image files direct from a card but not MSWord or pdf format files.

As far as I am aware there is no home type printer with that capability. Laser printers in the region of £450 plus, do have this ability!

A .doc file is simply text, formatting instructions and a lot of fresh air, to see what I mean open a .doc file in Notepad. In order to understand how to present this jumble of characters you need Word or a similar word processor. I'm not aware of any printer that can do this.

Some printers can print PDF files, as they're merely a wrapper encasing a PostScript printer file, so if you have a PostScript printer it should be able to print a PDF file directly. Unfortunately there are very few PostScript enabled inkjet printers, but some printers have emulators onboard to facilite printing PDFs and some image files...
