PowerPoint - short cut key needed

  Chris the Ancient 11:42 16 Apr 2009

Using PowerPoint XP.

I'm sure, in olden times, that there used to be a keyboard shortcut when composing a presentation to allow 'view from this slide'.

With XP, as usual, F5 can be used to view the presentation from slide 1; but surely there is a 'view from this slide'. I can click on the fiddly little icon at bottom left - but I would prefer a keyboard shortcut.

Neither could I. There's nothing in the Help (?) either.

I think that you may be looking for Shift + F5.

  Chris the Ancient 13:13 16 Apr 2009

I thought that as well, but that doesn't seem to do it on PowerPoint XP... at least on my pc.

With the slide highlighted in the preview, pressing Shift + F5 starts the show from that slide

I'm using Powerpoint 2003 in XP Pro

Doesn't on my machine.

Seems that I have an anomaly here that I'll have to accept.

Just run a 'detect and repair'.

No change.

  Chris the Ancient 13:43 16 Apr 2009

Just another thought. I'm actually running XP Pro Developer. Perhaps it's inherent in that.

  Woolwell 18:13 16 Apr 2009

Found out that shift F5 is for PowerPoint 2003 and later and not for PowerPoint XP.

I think that MS made a little boo-boo in that they forgot to put Shift+F5 in.

Oh well.
