Powerpoint on Office XP

A friend of mine has loaded office xp onto their machine and can see powerpoint in the prgrams list, however, when she goes to open a powerpoint doc it asks her for a code. I thought this would be the number that comes with the disc (the serial number) but she informs me that she has put this info in but still cannot open Powerpoint emails/programs, it does not accept the code. Please help! Thanks

is it a genuine version of office xp?

I am nut sure. What difference would that make? I know she had some sort of office installed on her machine when she bought it from Dell but there was no powerpoint installed.

I will advise her to uninstall her present office package & reinstall of the disc to see if that works.
