POWERCOLOR HD 7870 graphic card problem

I have a Desktop PC with the following hardware:

Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M LX Processor: AMD FX™ 6100 six core 3.30ghz Graphics: POWERCOLOR HD 7870 2gb Operating System: Windows 8.1 64 bit

The problem i have is the graphics card will work for a short while, then the screen will flicker, go blank or fills with colourful lines. So i’m forced to restart the computer. It will boot as far as showing the Windows 8 Logo but will then reboot itself to the same point again and will then keep restarting itself over and over. The only way i can get the computer to fully boot is to do so in ‘safe mode’ then disable my graphics card so that it works using the onboard card. I would be very greatful if you could help with my problem. Thank you

You have a chip problem. You could send it to repair shop. Chip must repaired with a new set of tin balls. I had the same problem and i've solved that way. I Sold 7870 and bought R7 270.
