My pc has failed due to a power supply problem, probably the psu, however i do have one yellow neon still alight on the mobo (abit kr7a-133) .
is the power supply controlled firstly through the mobo and therefore could this be a mobo problem?
(if you see what i mean!)
help appreciated

firstly how are you sure that your psu has failed, you know it must be plugged into the mobo to have a load resistance, if you just take it out the case and put power to it, then it won't go. Because you have a warning light on the board it sounds to like you have a mobo or cpu problem rather then psu. when its plugged in to the mobo is the psu fan working?

Thanks for your help hillbilly, fortunately a neigbour who was about to build a new pc let me borrow his new psu, bingo! that was the problem. Usefull information about requiring load resistance though, many thanks
