Power Down

  GBL 12:35 24 Dec 2003

I have just installed a new motherboard, Matsonic MS8147C series, great bit of kit. I am using XP Pro and have found that I cannot shut down, as it immediately reboots.
The board has the following information on the power switch;-The switch should maintain contact for at least 50ms to signal the power suopply to switch on or off. The time is due to internal debounce circuitry. After rerceiving a power on/off signal, at least two seconds elapses before the power supply recognises another on/off singal.

There is no other information that I can find on how to switch off.

Try this. Control Panel, Power Options, APM, Enable Advanced Power Management.

Else VoG has a nice list of things to try...

Where is that, I can't see it in my Power options.

Try click here - Reboot instead of Shutdown.

There is alot to read there so will have to go through it, but I can't find any reference to APM anywhere on my puter.

As Jester2K II says look in Control Panel, Power Options. There should be an APM tab.

Nope only got the following,
Power Schemes, Advanced,Hibernate and UPS.
Definately no APM to be found.

Then ignore what i said. It depends on your mobo if the tab is there or not.

Sorry but it ain't there. So can only deduce that I haven't got it.
