"It was recommended while at college to invest in one"

Just the one or a particular one?

If you go to any seaside resort, you'll find hundreds to choose from. I suspect that someone's pulling your plonker.

Hello Clapton is God,your reply put a smile on my face ;-) .And I have saved the link you supplied in my favorites for future reference.

Hello *Raven*,you are spot on with the type of post card I was recommended to buy.

The post card I require test the MB and RAM etc for fault and reports any faults either by beeps or numbers.

There are many on ebay, but which ones do the job?.

I have just started a Pc repair course at college. The lecturer mentioned the tools I would need, most I have .Except a good post card.

Thank you both for your help.Cheers

iqs - did you come to any conclusions, and actually buy a card ?
Though not specifically a repairman, I do have a number of problems for which the card would be very useful, so I've been thinking of buying one.
If you did, I'd be grateful for your experience, either posted here or via a pm.
Regards
John

greybeard,

As yet I have not purchased a Post Card. The problem is there are so many, which one do I buy.
I have been looking at the many models on Ebay, they all offer the same testing facility.

While at college I have had use of their Post Card. From my experience of using the card, they make fault finding very quick and easy.In seconds you are given a code,no hours of testing component etc etc.

So yes I will buy one,and I can recommend investing in a Post Card.Worth ever penny.

Hope this help.Cheers
