Possible to validate Vista without the Internet?

  rodriguez 15:10 18 Feb 2007

A mate of mine has just had a new Mesh computer with Vista Home Premium installed. However he doesn't have an Internet connection, not even dial up. There are around 26 days left (I think) to validate Windows. As this requires the Internet, is there another way of validating it such as over the phone? I haven't got Vista yet and I have broadband anyway so I've never needed to look into this until now.

It can be activated over the phone, have a read of this.

Thanks for that, it seems that's what he'll need to do. I'll print it off and show him next time I see him.

The activation would be very similar to the previous Microsoft O/S programmes. Suggest that a pen and paper are handy due to long rows of figures that's required.

Shouldn't worry to much about the 30 day validation period, there are ways around it, if delays are unexpected.
