Possible HD faulty - repair?

  kjrider 18:36 01 Oct 2008

My Western Digital HD was being a bit iffy, and it was not that old. I went onto the website, and was suggested that I downloaded the diagnostics program, before I got in touch with them.

Ran the HD diagnostics program, and it promted me to do a repair, which I did.

Now I am wondering, how good is the HD? Do i carry on as normal, or should I scrap it or tey to get WD to replace it?

Has anyone any experience of repeairing their slightly iffy HDs? And how long did they last?

My I Book died, but WD were really good and replaced it immediately before I had returned the faulty one (Large penalty if not returned within about 30 days)Give them a ring. Mine wouldn't even format, so maybe yours is OK now. Equivalent to CHKDSK /F
