Posdsible motherboard problem

  Elwell 16:17 13 Aug 2004

Monitor displays ' No signal input or cable disconnected'. Have tried a different monitor but same thing. Both monitor and video card work fine on another machine so am assuming problem lies with motherboard but have no idea what to look for. Would appreciate some guidance. This particular machine worked until moved to another room - cannot see anything that has come loose.

you may just have lost your settings, and are trying to drive the monitor at an incorrect refresh rate.

I can't get anything up on screen to allow me to navigate.

Have you tried a different GFX card in the suspect MOBO?

Try taking the memory out. Generally if the board is OK the PC will beep at you letting you know there's no memory. If you get no beeps at all sounds like either mobo or CPU is dead.

Will try suggestions. I think the card is ok as it worked in another machine. My suspect is the motherboard.
