I have just bought a Philips 160g hard drive, my cumputer can "see" the drive and I can send files to it. When I try to use the software that came with it, I get the error message "paremeters are incorrect" any solutions?
Also when I boot up I get the message "SQL DUMPER LIBRARY is corrupted, reinstall to correct. How do I do this? I am using Windows XP

I use old hdds as back ups,(better than dvds)in an external usb caddy,no software came with it,XP and vista recongnises it as another hard drive.Never had any probs reading or writing to it.Try just using windows own "disk management"in the control panel under "admin tools" then "computer management"you can fornat it ,partion it and assign drive letters.
