Port Forwarding

I have broadband connection that goes directly into a windows 2000 server, from the server i have an 8 port hub, from the hub i have a 3 pc's all with static ip addreses. All works no problems.

What i would like to know is how to forward ports. So if i get some software on the laptop using port 317 when it comes to the server it forwards the data to the laptop.

I have tried but with failed attempts.

cheers

It may be an option in your firewall (are you running a firewall?).

I have netgear router with a built in firewall and the option of port forwarding is in there. I am not sure about Windows 2000 but I'm sure that if you post any firewall details here then someone will be able to help.

Are you using ICS or have you set up Routing and Remote Access?
