porn site pop-up

Husband (who's assured me he's not into that sort of thing!!!) keeps getting a pop up of a porn site even though he has the msn toolbar and pop-up blocker. (He prefers msn toolbar so I can't change that for him) It's not dependent on any particular site he views - but is there a way of disabling a specific, offensive pop-up? Anti-virus etc up to date

If it's winxp ur using.. in Internet properties under the privacy tab, at the bottom make sure the pop-up blocker is ticked

will check that when I get his laptop back - but..surely if msn tool blocker blocks other popups then one would assume the pop up blocker will be ticked?

"if msn tool blocker blocks other popups then one would assume the pop up blocker will be ticked?"

Porn sites use all sorts of devious means to bypass conventional security measures.

BTW, you don't have to mistrust your husband. Again, porn sites are very devious about getting into machines. They can (and do) cause much turmoil and bad feeling amongst couples and within families.

Is this a Messenger Service pop-up like click here

If not, run Ad-aware click here Spybot click here and AntiSpyware click here

I'm on his laptop now waiting for this porn pop to appear so I can see what he's on about- but obviously it's not going to happen while I'm here, is it?!! In the meantime I will try out all the suggestions above -thanks all

I would just let your husband use the computer and just take note of what he is doing. Then, hopefully, you may notice a pattern from the pop-ups or a pop-up may be displayed, so then you can describe how it looks (aka is it like the pop-up in VoG™'s link)

I use this
click here and all of my problems such as you describe are things of the past. It is a very small download.

I'll try your one as well - have done the things VoG said and am waiting report from mr mco re whether he still gets the pop up or not. Thanks! (He's most keen to convince me it's not his fault!!!)

are you able to even take a screan-shot of it when it decides to appear,so folks can see, via that link, what it is you are dealing with;if I am right, the link should appear on forum as a click here:)
