For the last couple of weeks, every time OE is opened after boot up the incoming mail server has mysteriously changed from pop.tiscali.co.uk to 127.0.0.1 The outgoing mail server is not affected. Any idea how I might fix this?

Check it? How? Contacted McAfee and run their virtual technician which found nothing awry with the software. I have discovered that 127.0.0.1 is a loopback address.

The Tiscali mail settings have not changed (I have checked today) This is almost certainly a malware or virus infection try installing Spybot Search and destroy from: click here

And Adaware 2007 from: click here

Update after installation and run scans with both, post back results:)

Good one, although my antivirus leaves my tiscali settings alone. Still worth downloading and running the aforementioned apps, they are free, and will keep Madmarianne's system clean.
