policies to prevent this installation

Trying to uninstall family tree 1881 census I received the following
“The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation”

Installed updates
You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Family History Resource File Viewer 3.0 Please contact your systems administrator

Why does this happen when I am the only person using the PC running Vista
How do I get around this problem?

Thank you

Try downloading Revo Uninstaller and using that to uninstall Family History Resource File Viewer 3.0.

During the un-install process you may be asked if you want to re-start your computer, DO NOT re-start at this point, let Revo continue. You will eventually get the option to Select All and to Delete - DO SO. You will be given the same options a second time, again DO SO, do not be picky, just accept all that Revo chooses.
After clicking on Finish, re-start your computer.

Good advice, TT.

Thanks for the comment .....

I usually add those details because I have noticed that most people are a bit wary of selecting and deleting 'All', a few who have been 'picky' have usually ended up with further problems.

Revo is IMHO an excellent un-installer, as long as it is left to do its own thing, by following my above instructions - so to speak :-)
