plz help NO SOUND

i've just installed a fresh copy of xp one of ma pc's but cant seem to find any drivers for the motherboard

Shed load of MX drivers here. Have you tried Everest Home to try to identify your audio device.

go to asus web site link below
click here

now you see the box on the right ,,says genral download and has 3 input bars
1st bas select motherboard
2nd socket 478
3rd you system is P4SP-MX

all your motherboard drivers etc are here download em all n save to disc for future reinstalls

This you can find what Sound chip is, Remove the Side panel from Comp check write down all main chip names and the number on them May be via, Sis or Intel. come back hear with info

the main one u want for sound is the audio tab open it and download the top one named

SoundMAX Audio Driver version WHQL for Windows 98/ME/2K/XP.

when reinstalling an operating system you have to also install the motherboard drivers

just like when you add a grafix card ,you have to instal drivers or the extra bits on the card wont work same applies to the motherboard

your board needs them to run stable and to its full potential if you dont window will use bog standard ones tht are S%£$$%^t

so play it safe get em all install and enjoy
