  chrisjohn 17:20 29 Oct 2006

it might be that you have to put a card in the unit then plug it into pc ?

  skidzy 17:42 29 Oct 2006

I take it you mean PCMCIA card Chris,if so...did you get a driver disc with it.

If not, check device manager for any yellow exclaimation marks. If they exist, uninstall the device by right clicking and reboot. If xp it will find the generic drivers and install them.

If no joy post back.

You could try going into the bios and check plug and play is enabled.getting into the bios could be F2 or the delete key on startup. It may well be a different key though.

right click my computer > properties > hardware > device manager . Is PCMCIA adapters listed?

If not, use the application and driver recovery dvd disk. Open hardware enabling divers and scroll " TI-PCI 6xx1 /7xx1 cardbus driver "

Tick this and un tick the rest. Install the drivers and reboot.

Is the pcmcia listed now?

If it is listed, have you inserted a memory card into the reader. It should come up in my computer.
