If it doesn't work why not take/send it back to where you bought it from and ask for a full refund if it's not fit for the purposeDon't just slag plextor off because you can't get a reply. Try talking to the supplier.

just been on the plextor site click here no problems such as you mention. Is it possible you have a browser hijacker on your computer?

Plextor makes good drives, its possible that you've just been unlucky and got a faulty one, I can see you're frustrated but I think "plextor a load of junk" is a tad extreme. Regarding the porn thing perhaps you've picked up a virus of some description, as Gandalf has said a bit more info is required. I'm sure if you describe what operating system you have and what software you are trying to use with the drive someone on the forum will help you set it up and get it working. Smiler makes a valid point though, if the drive is actually faulty then can you not take it back to where you bought it from? I certainly wouldn't be binning it at this stage.

I have had a number of Plextor drives and writers and never found them to be a problem.

There is always the possibility of a "rogue" device leaving the factory and it seems as though you may have one.

If the machine doesn't work, do as already suggested and inform your supplier and take their advice. remember, though, that your contract is with the supplier and not with Plextor and you may need to remind your supplier of that.

Ok guys I am p off When you buy over the net you never get what it says it does .drivers missing or not compatable with what ever and if you are a novice you do not stand a chance of getting it right first time ,this plextor thing is the last straw for me I will never never buy over the net again.I will put my money where my mouth is by not bothering to ask for my money back I have binned it.
I will Buy from a shop next time
