Please help with wireless network.....

I am a networking virgin.

I am building a PC for my son, which will be based in the house.

My main PC (and cable modem) is based in my recording studio, which is in the converted garage (separate to house).

Now I know I can use a wireless router (e.g. Linksys) and a wireless receiver on the house PC to share the cable broadband connection.

I use ZoneAlarm Pro as a Firewall on my studio PC.

I gather there are ISP / modem Ethernet address issues with wireless networking such as this.

How do I set up this network ? Is it as simple as plugging the stuff in and Windows XP does the rest ?

in theory yes in practice never. Install the equipment and run the progs. If all is then well each pc should list the equipment it can see. Walls and trees do cut down the distance it will work over.

When I say "network" all I mean is a shared internet connection, not shared file/folders.
