Can anybody help, I have a dell 4600i pen 4 and ive added a geforce 6800 ultra graphics card but ive found out my power supply is only 250watts I require 350/400 watts of power to run my graphics card as i keep getting a warning saying low power ive asked dell if i could upgrade my power supply the guy in the call centre didnt have a clue.. My card runs on low supply but hangs under advance game settings memory at least 512 + has any one upgraded power supply to the cards with no other known problems?

the problem on boot up the card displays error low on power but on check up the power i run is 250watts min spec for 6800 ultra is 350watts at best by 400w would upgrading power watage damage anything?

Changing the power supply is easy just make a note of which connectors fit the various items and fit the same ones on the new power supply.

is this a no risk to other componants

Each item uses a certain amount of power and will still use the same amount no matter what size power supply you fit. They only cause problems if they are not getting the amount they need.

the extra wattage won't damage anything at all, your just "giving the pc more in reserve for when it needs it" is about the best analogy i can think of
