I am trying to get Vista service pack 1 installed but to no hope I am getting Error 80070002 and getting very stressed out with it

First-- If you want help, it is helpful to put the subject in the title line as 'Please help' means nothing.

Try re-loading SP1 for Vista from the Microsoft website and let it install automaticly.

Personally, I have had a look at Vista and until the bugs are sorted out, I will not touch it.

This is related to Windows Update but not specifically SP1 click here

An SP1 related tip here; click here

Another option is to get the entire 400+MB download, disconnect from the internet, shut down all unnecessary programs and tasks (including firewall and antivirus) and run the installer. click here
