playing PS2 through a PC

Has anyone experience of connecting a PS2 (playstation) to a PC graphics card, so that the PS2 can be viewed on the PC monitor? (at better resolution than the standard TV output.)

Thanks for the replies, but the PS2 site forum is full of the "do you prefer your PS2 to your girlfriend" type of correspondence. I was hoping for some more technical advice from the experts on this forum.
PS. I do not want an emulator program, just a means of using my PC monitor to view the output from the console.
You can buy a "VGA adapter", but these cost around £45 and I have seen some bad reports stating that the display quality is often inferior to the standard TV.
I wondered about using a PC graphics card.
