Pinnacle studio - Edit A Menu Button

  David4637 13:25 28 Oct 2007

I am trying to edit a menu thumbnail button in the above which is a *.tga file (graphics).
Can someone please recommend some software to edit. Its a square box say 1"x1" on tranparent background and I want to change the box outline from red to black and maintain the tranparent background so a thumbnail image can be displayed in the box. Studio can change the colour, but it loses the transparent background. Thanks David

Thanks David

Have you got JASC Paint Shop Pro 9 or ADOBE Photoshop Elements 4.0

I have photoshop V7, but could not open the *.tga file. Are you saying that PS Elements 3 will open these files???

I should also have said I have Studio Version 943 Plus edition.
Any further advice please?

I use ADOBE Photoshop Elements 4.0, Don't know if 3 does or does not.

Sorry, but are you saying that Elements 4 WILL open *.tga files? Thanks David

Elements 4 Will & Does Edit *.tga Files.
I Tested it myself for you with a menu thumbnail button from Pinnacle Studio (My Version is 8.12).

I used 'Family - Precious Memories frame.tga'

& saved as 'Family TEST- Precious Memories frame.tga'

Changed Box from White to Red (No problems at all).

Thanks for that, I will try again to see if my version of Photoshop will open a *.tga file. Thanks again for trying it for me in your Elements 4, you used the same tga file I used in Studio to edit it - but failed, hence my query, that was a coincidence you picked the same file! Thanks David

No coincidence, It was the only menu button styled how you mentioned in your query.

David, as for the Black Colour you need, Do NOT use the Transparent Black, Go towards a Dark Navy, or you wont see the Box, If you don't need the Box make it the same Black Colour.
