I am having problems adding text to my photos in the above programme, i cant get any text in the photo. What am i doing wrong?

Click on the Text Tool in the tool bar. (T)

Put the cursor where you want to type and click once, it should change to a vertical flashing line, and the cursor will change to the Move tool, then type your text.

On the Text toolbar at the top of the screen make sure the type size is set to something sensible - you can change it to any size you want, try 18 point as a start - and the colour is something that will contrast with your picture. Choose whatever font you want to use.

If you bring up the Layers tab you should see a layer with a big 'T' in it.

When you have typed your text you can move it around with the Move tool.
